Accessibility

How this site tries to be usable.

What we have done, what the accessibility button does, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

The accessibility button

The round button in the bottom-left corner opens a menu that changes the page for you: text size, letter and line spacing, a high-contrast mode, a readable font, link highlighting, a reading guide, a bigger cursor and stopping animations. The settings are remembered in your browser only. Nothing about them is sent to us.

Languages

This site is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Greek and Russian, using the switcher in the header and the footer. The accessibility menu follows the language of the page you are reading.

Keyboard

Everything here can be reached with the keyboard. Focus outlines are always visible, and the menu closes with Escape.

What we have not solved

No site is finished. We test with a keyboard, at phone widths, and with the accessibility menu in every language. If a page still fails you, tell us and we will fix it rather than explain it: contact us.

Built on Sienna

The menu is the Sienna Accessibility Widget 2.1.0 by Benny Luk, MIT licensed, taken from the published npm package and hosted on this site: no third-party server is contacted when you use it, and no language files are fetched. Its licence, a notice of the changes we made and the SHA-256 of the file we ship are kept beside the file.
